Board of Directors
The Bank has a Board of Directors consisting of persons appointed by the General Assembly of Shareholders and approved by the National Bank of Romania. The Board of Directors comprises both executive and independent non-executive members. The role of the Board of Directors is to establish the general directions of the Bank's activity and its business objectives, as well as to supervise and monitor the activity of the Bank's Management Committee.

Management Committee
The decisions taken by the Board of Directors are implemented by the Management Committee, which ensures the executive management of the Bank and oversees its daily activities.
The current Management Committee members are:
Georgios Athanasopoulos – CEO and Member of the Board
Mr. Athanasopoulos is a seasoned professional with over 30 years experience in the banking sector, both in Greece and Romania. Mr. Athanasopoulos has solid knowledge of retail and corporate banking, risk management and strategic planning. Mr. Athanasopoulos joined Vista Bank (Romania) in 2010 (then called Marfin Bank Romania), and previously held various managerial positions in the Greek banking system, at Marfin Egnatia Bank, Laiki Bank, Millennium Bank and Ergobank. Mr. Athanasopoulos has economic background, holding a Bachelor of Arts diploma from University of Coventry – Coventry Business School, United Kingdom and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) diploma, accredited by AAACSB, from University of Louisville (USA). He is fluent in Greek and English.
Cornel Theodor Stanescu– First Deputy CEO and Member of the Board
Mr. Stanescu has over 30 years working experience in financial and banking sector. Before joining Vista Bank in 2007 (then Marfin Bank Romania), he was Deputy CEO and Treasurer of Emporiki Bank Romania – Member of Credit Agricole Group, Deputy CEO and Vice Chairman of Agras-Omniasig, Deputy CEO of Romanian International Bank (currently Idea Bank), and Treasurer, Deputy CEO and First Vice Chairman of Banca Agricola S.A. Mr. Stanescu graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Finance, Banks and Accounting Faculty, and holds an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) diploma from Sheffield University, United Kingdom. He is founding member of ACI Romania - Financial Markets Association. He is fluent in Romanian, English and Italian.
Periklis Voulgaris – Deputy CEO
Mr. Voulgaris has over 27 years of professional experience in the financial-banking sector. He joined Vista Bank in 2024, where he coordinates the Corporate, Agribusiness, Retail Network, Business Support, and Marketing areas. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of Wholesale Banking at Alpha Bank Romania for 16 years and held senior management positions in Alpha Bank’s investment banking divisions in both Greece and Romania. Mr. Voulgaris holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University in Greece, an MSc degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA degree, both from Imperial College in the UK. He is fluent in Greek and English, and speaks Romanian at conversational level.
Ovidiu Craciunas– Deputy CEO
Mr. Craciunas has over 20 years of experience in the banking sector, of which over 14 years at Vista Bank (formerly Marfin Bank). He coordinates the internal control functions: risk management, compliance and anti-fraud, having significant experience in the field. Mr. Craciunas graduated from the "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Economics, specialization in Banking and Stock Markets and holds two Master's degrees in Business Administration (MBA) at the "Babes-Bolyai" University, respectively in Economic Development of the Enterprises at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. He has been a member of CAFR (Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania) since 2009.
